How do I choose the correct size? ! FAQ

Each product category requires different measurements and attention to fit.

CLOTHING

How do I choose the correct size for clothing?
To choose the correct size, it’s important to take your dog’s measurements properly:

  • A – Back length: from the base of the neck along the back
  • B – Chest circumference: at the widest point
  • C – Neck circumference

For clothing, the key measurement is back length (A).

The garment should end a couple of centimetres before the base of the tail, leaving this area completely free. The tail plays an essential role in movement and communication and should never be covered.

You should also consider:

  • your dog’s chest circumference
  • body structure (slim, compact, long or short coat)

A proper fit should follow the dog’s movement without tightening or creating friction on the coat.

If your dog falls between two sizes, also consider body structure and the fit of the garment.

HARNESSES

How do I choose the correct harness size?
For harnesses, the key measurement is the chest circumference (B), taken at the widest point.

A properly fitted harness should:

  • sit securely without tightening
  • remain stable during walks
  • not restrict shoulder movement
  • not sit too close to the armpits, to avoid friction and discomfort (ideally, it should sit a few centimetres below)

A harness that is too tight can create pressure on the chest and joints, while one that is too loose may shift, causing friction or reduced control.

It’s also important to consider the design: not all harnesses distribute pressure in the same way. Beyond size, the structure should respect the dog’s natural movement.

If your dog falls between two sizes, consider the adjustability and fit of the model, not just the measurements.

COLLARS

How do I choose the correct collar size?
The collar should fit your dog’s neck circumference (C) without being too tight.

As a general rule, you should be able to fit at least one finger between the collar and the dog’s neck, to prevent constant pressure and ensure comfort.

A properly fitted collar should:

  • sit securely without compressing
  • not cause friction or irritation
  • not be too loose, to avoid slipping off

It’s also important to consider the width of the collar, which should be proportionate to the dog’s size and build:

  • small dogs → about 1–2 cm
  • medium dogs → about 2–3 cm
  • large dogs → about 3–4 cm
  • sighthounds (e.g. Whippet, Italian Greyhound) → up to about 7 cm, to better distribute pressure across the neck

A collar that is too wide for a small dog can feel invasive and restrict comfort, while one that is too narrow for a large dog may not distribute pressure properly.

Comfort and daily use should always be considered, avoiding rigid or unsuitable designs.
